 IXTLI WHITE HAWK

Born in Mexico City to her Aztec roots, Ixtli (Salinas-White Hawk) has maintained her cultural identity alive through her traditional dances and way of life. She was born into a home that encourages and supports all artistic mediums. Being born into a traditional home, art and culture has always being at the heart of her soul.

Ixtli has been traveling the world from a very young age - As the oldest daughter, she was handed a microphone at the age of 12; Since then, she became the spokesperson for TLOKE-NAHUAKE Traditional Aztec Fire Dancers, the family dance circle.

She started her artistic life from birth and as a toddler she would learn/help as her parents would be making of dance regalias. To this day, she is always learning and creating something new. Her work centers in her Aztec roots, creating pieces in traditional and contemporary styles. She is also inspired by all her travels and people she is blessed crossing paths with.
All pieces are hand crafted with care and quality materials using semi-precious stones, feathers, leather and other natural elements.

She recently relocated to NewMexico after living in Northern Japan for a number of years. Her husband is of the Jicarilla Apache and Assiniboine Sioux tribes. As a family rich in tribal and cultural heritage of warrior blood, they raise their children in a traditional home.

She encourages and supports family unity as well as nurturing a creative and open mind for children through cultural programs, performances and workshops.
